When we were little, we used to fight a lot because we stole each other's clothes, makeup, shoes, or whatever else. Now we create Ponchy and other things together.
We don't fight... a lot anymore, just a little, like normal sisters.
Eight years ago, before Noah, we moved from Venezuela to the US with nothing, just 2 bags each and about $400 in cash. That's it. In Venezuela, we had growing careers in media and in graphic design. However, as emigrants, none of that mattered—neither our careers nor our ambitions or dreams, at least at the beginning.
We received tons of support and very quickly got back on our feet. We did everything from cleaning, working in construction to restaurants, anything and everything until we made our way back to corporate jobs in our fields, and things started to get better.
When I became a mom in 2021. The world changed; nothing mattered anymore, only him—Noah. That little boy with sweet brown eyes and a big dimple on one side of his face that's impossible to miss when he smiles. Only one side, not both.
He was the spark for change, for growth, for inspiration, and after a very disappointing online search for a decent and affordable nursing cover that could help me breastfeed feeling safe in a post-pandemic world, we were on.
Together we created Ponchy and Happy Mama Tea. We use our talents, and professional experience, and transform that energy into this brand that is our dream.
Nowadays, we obsess over making breastfeeding more comfortable and easy for every mom.
